i have a masters degree in counselling psychology, focusing my studies on what was then called “maternal mental health” and is now called (or should be, more consistently) reproductive and perinatal mental health. i am a member in good standing with the canadian counselling and psychotherapy association, and am a registered c.c.c., which means that my services are covered by most insurance providers.

usually, i am engaged in some form of professional development, whether that be taking additional courses, attending conferences and presentations, or pursuing further certifications.

it’s not really a “credential” per se, but maybe it helps to know that i’m a parent myself, i’m married to a person who has a great sense of humour and an impressive degree of patience, plus i do a lot of my own therapy. like, with my own therapist. (they are also impressively patient…)

i have a few vices but work hard at self-compassion, i use my heating pad even in the summer, i had an entirely different career before transitioning into the helping space, i’m a nervous driver who fantasizes about owning a motorcycle one day, i buy lots of books and have even read a few of them, and in the future i hope to maybe have the chance to write one of my own.
